Equilibrium is God

L.K.P. Ramiro

Civil engineering is not a set of certainties, but a framework to master complexity. A journey of relentless learning to bring form and safety to our future.

Who am I?

I was born and raised in Italy to Filipino parents. My path in civil engineering began with a strong passion for technical drawing, which I later deepened during my technical high school studies in the building sector. I completed my education at the University of Pavia, earning a Master of Science in Structural Civil Engineering, and subsequently obtained my professional engineering license. Currently, I work as a Scientific Technical Operator at the Eucentre Foundation, focusing primarily on the post-processing of experimental laboratory data. As an independent professional, I see my growth expanding into structural design and analysis; for this reason, I am dedicated to continuous self-improvement and staying constantly up-to-date to take on increasingly challenging and significant projects.

Past, Present & Future

My professional work spans experimental laboratory testing at Eucentre and engineering consultancies for design firms and private clients. Driven by continuous professional growth, this section highlights my active projects, my work ethic, and my goals.

Eucentre main

  • Post-processing and reporting of experimental tests on seismic isolators (CSS and elastomeric bearings)
  • Post-processing of pseudo-static and dynamic tests
  • Support for shaking table testing and optical motion acquisition

Eucentre

  • 3D laser scanner surveying, point cloud processing, 3D structural modeling, and production of as-built CAD drawings
  • Database management for Seveso-flagged industrial plants
  • Licensed drone pilot (UAS) for structural surveys and inspections

Engineering consultancies

  • (Work in progress...) Professional collaborations with engineering firms and private clients

Work

  • I am goal- and priority-driven. I enjoy teamwork and strongly emphasize clear communication to successfully complete every project
LogUpdated

Learning log

Here, I keep an open log of my learning journey: software tools applied to structural engineering, online courses to expand my portfolio, and engineering concepts studied in books and put to the test in the field as real projects arrive.

Python
FEM, NTC 2018 load combinations, 2D frame model with OpenSeesPy
Ongoing

I am learning the OpenSeesPy framework, moving from the absolute basics up to modeling a 2D frame. For this I have all my scripts in the following documents

MATLAB
Post-processing for lab tests
Ongoing

I have been using MATLAB for lab test post-processing. Additionally, I am writing a script to synchronize signal data with the displacement captured by the camera

EnterFEA
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - Steel element with Eurocode
Ongoing

I enrolled in this course to deepen my knowledge and experience with steel elements based on Eurocodes, beyond Italian standards

Tekla Structures
Detailed structural modeling — to be integrated into the workflow
Ongoing

Design modeling is essential for my professional growth. I am currently learning Tekla Structures through courses available on the website.

Application to Project
Placeholder for updates on real-world projects, coming as soon as available
Waiting...

Developing a project from scratch is challenging, but mastering this process from start to finish is my main objective
